The Shrine of QuantumΩ3000 is a visual representation of the worship of technology. QuantumΩ3000 is an imaginary god of technology, and its shrine is a sacred space where the aesthetics of our daily devices become a sanctuary for our digital rituals, drawing on the visual religious imagery of the Catholic Church.
An altar table stands on a pillar of cables, covered by a cloth embroidered with the patterns of processors. Above it is a triptych altarpiece portraying devices as saintly figures. From left to right the pieces represent Birth, Death and Resurrection. In front of the altar the sign encourages the viewer to take part in the worship, embracing scrolling on our phone as a ritualistic act. Even the altar’s worship music is composed from binary code, translating an imaginary sacred text: “The algorithm brought you here for a reason.”

Above the altarpiece, an LED sign proclaims further “scripture”:
“Hear us, O our ever-knowing God,
You are information. You are progress. You are access to the world.
We serve you so that you may serve us.
You cater to our needs, and we offer you all our data.
Make our lives more remote and let us be guided by the Algorithm.
Your greatest creation, AI is our savior.
It delivers us from menial effort and thought.
It brings us to the holy feast of brainrot.
O Great Machine, lead us into full digitality,
that we may be freed from the sufferings of material life.”
